The Official Invitation

Aloha family!

You are cordially invited to the Solomon Family Reunion to be held at
The Continental Restaurant
266 Broadway, Route 1 North
Saugus, Massachusetts

Saturday, August 15th at 6 p.m. - midnight

The cost of dinner for each adult is $26 and dinner for children under 12 is $12.95.

Looking forward to seeing everybody!

This e-mail invitation is in lieu of a paper invitation. Please notify me if you know e-mail addresses of family not included. Also, please pass along this invitation to people in your family who may not have e-mail access.

I've asked my daughter Sarah if she would collect the funds for the event. We'd like to know by July 15th how many adults and children to expect. In the meantime, Sarah will open a checking account to deposit payments...so please make checks payable to: Sarah Culver and send to:

Sarah Culver
Solomon Family Reunion
1050 Robinwood Hills Dr.
Akron, OH 44333

Please include a list of names of people attending, designating if any are children under 12, with your check. If you would like to send some extra funds to cover the cost of prizes and/or gifts, that would be welcome.

Sarah and I have been discussing again a bit about other events that family might want to do together before or after the Saturday of the dinner. Some family-friendly ideas that we've discussed include: Swan Boat rides at Boston Public Gardens, DuckTour of Boston and Charles River, visit to Old Ironsides (USS Constitution), visiting Revere Beach.

In addition, Sarah and I were talking about going to the Melrose cemetery, where many of our relatives are buried, on Sunday morning and then having brunch together. Please write back if you are interested in any of these activities and also let me know what days and times might work best for you.

For those of you who are coming from out of town looking for a place to stay, there are a number of hotels in the area, some on Route 1 in Saugus within a few miles of the restaurant. Sarah is looking into group rates at the Holiday Inn Hotel & Suites Boston-Peabody at Route 1 and Rt 128, just 2.5 miles north of the restaurant. They appear to have some suites with separate bedrooms, plenty of regular rooms, an indoor pool, a fitness room, a breakfast bar, and other amenities. Please let me know if you have an interest in staying at this hotel and on which nights.
If you have any concerns or questions, we want to hear from you!

Love,
Karen Cavalieri (Minnie's younger daughter)

Solomon Family Gathering - Location/Date Set

Aloha Everyone,
Hope that all is well!

I have booked the Continental Restaurant for Saturday, August 15,2009 Six PM for a Solomon Family Gathering.

It will cost $ 26.00 per adult for a buffet dinner including tip and $12.95 for children 12 and under.

We will have the private room on the second floor of the restaurant until midnight. There is an elevator to take people to the second floor and there is a handicapped restroom on the second floor.

We can plan later for other events or gatherings that people might want to do together during that weekend. Hope that as many as possible will be able to attend.

As we get closer we will need numbers and to collect money..plenty of time for that.
Any question...please e-mail.

Love and Happy New Year!

Weekend For The Reunion

Aloha All,
Wow this summer is just flying by. Before long it will be August 2009...
How about Saturday, August 8 or 15, 2009 for the dinner part of the reunion? Have been checking into some restaurants that the family used to always go to. The Continental in Saugus on Route One has a good deal for a Saturday buffet in a private room on their second floor. I ate at the Continental last year...good food , handy and brings back some fond memories. The price is also good too. Checked out a water park...the Sheraton Ferncroft in Danvers...expensive..$300 plus a night but includes the water park usage for a family. There are of course great beaches (Revere Beach where some of us spent some summers growing up and it is historical being the first public beach in the country) in the area and hotels/motels on Route One in the Saugus area. Thinking about a typical Friday night Sabbath dinner at a shul in Malden and/or a Sunday brunch..bagels, lox smoked fishes, etc.
Okay, everyone, lets decide on a date and work from there!
Love and Much Aloha,
Cousin Karen

Who is in the wedding picture?

Who can list the people in the wedding picture down below? I would like to add their names. Thanks!

What kinds of activities do you want to do?

As part of the reunion planning - Karen is looking into various activities for the family to do. Obviously we will have one big dinner event where everyone will attend (probably on a Saturday night). But we want to plan other activities. Here are some ideas being bounced around:
  • Duck Tour
  • Red Sox Game
  • Pickup basketball game
  • Golf outing
  • Trolley tour of family locations in Malden
  • Day at the Beach

We know that everyone has different interests. Do any of these sound interesting to you? Do you have any other ideas?

Welcome!

Welcome to the Solomon Family Reunion website!
Karen is in the process of organizing the reunion and is shooting for August 2009.
Please keep checking back here for more updates.
